Background
This was my first capstone project to which I edited outside of the allotted course.
It was also my first time acting in front of a camera, so it was incredible to use my prior theatre experience.
Organizational Skills
Once post started, I thoroughly organized the hard drive and the premiere file.
With my expertise in both DIT and editing, my clean and precise skills set us up for a successful film in the long run.
The Edit
I prefer editing in person rather than getting an extensive email of notes.
Making my directors feel at ease, and reviving their passions, almost healing the extensive sleepless hours of dedication, brings me an overwhelming sense of joy and purpose!
Obstacles Overcome
Through quirky comps and the director’s strong creative vision, I gained knowledge of an unfamiliar editing style.
I find comfort in fluidity and subtlety, so switching to a whimsical and quick paced cut was a challenge I was willing to overcome.
